In many cases, there are aftermarket parts available in place of the typically more expensive OEM parts. We’ve repaired enough appliances to know when to use OEM and when to use aftermarket.

When we feel an aftermarket part is sufficient, we will provide you a quote for the repair with pricing for the OEM part vs aftermarket part. While the choice is yours, we will provide our insights about which type of part to choose.

At the end of the day, we will use whichever part you are most comfortable choosing.

The Edmonton area has hard water, often resulting in mineralization and calcium build-up inside the water lines of fridges and ice makers. This is a common cause of repair.

We are adept at clearing build-up and getting your water/ice machine back online. However, know that you can take a few precautionary steps that will greatly reduce the frequency of these issues.

1. Every three months, gently pull your refrigerator away from where it is currently installed and visually inspect the water line. If you see signs of calcium or mildew, give us a call to come clean the line, or take on this task yourself.
2. Every six months, check your ice machine for build-up and clean out anything that has developed.
3. Once per year, flush your lines per the instructions provided in your refrigerator owner’s manual. Ensure that you only use cleaning compounds approved by the manufacturer.
